Southern Champion follows the International Commercial
Terms of sale (INCOTERMS), which are commonly used to define cost responsibilities
and transfer of risk of loss for goods shipped in international trade. There
are four categories of INCOTERMS which specify different costs and risks for
both the seller (consignor or shipper) and the buyer (consignee):
E TERMS - The seller makes the goods available at the seller's premises or some other specified location.
EXW - Ex Works (Named Place)
--------------------
F TERMS-The seller must deliver the goods to the buyer's carrier either at the seller's premises or the place or port specified by the buyer.
FCA - Free Carrier (Named Place)
FAS - Free Alongside Ship (Named Port of Shipment)
FOB - Freight On Board (Vessel, Named Port of Shipment)
--------------------
C TERMS-The seller must contract and pay for international carriage, but does not assume the risk of loss or damage to the goods after the goods are turned over to the carrier.
CFR - Cost and Freight (Named Port of Destination)
CPT - Carriage Paid To (Named Place of Destination)
CIF - Cost, Insurance, and Freight (Named Port of Destination)
CIP - Carriage and Insurance Paid To (Named Place of Destination)
--------------------
D TERMS-The seller must bear all costs and risks required to bring the goods to the destination country, up to and including the buyer's premises.
DAF - Delivered at Frontier (Named Place)
DES - Delivered Ex Ship (Named Port of Destination)
DEQ - Delivered Ex Quay (Named Port of Destination)
DDU - Delivered Duty Unpaid (Named Place of Destination)
DDP - Delivered Duty Paid (Named Place of Destination)
