Our History
A Century of Championing People
1927
Founded as a subsidiary of an Ohio-based company to manufacture paperboard food trays.
1947
Milt Zeiser becomes new majority owner, and declares the company independent. With his machining and mechanical design skills and his commitment to customers, he spearheads a flourishing business.
1960s
The team grows to 22 and serves 50 customers across the southern U.S.
1958
Milt’s son Chuck joins SCT and the second generation of Zeiser leadership begins.
1968
Chuck is appointed President. He increases the company’s manufacturing capabilities and adds a full-service trucking division.
1980s
Chuck’s sons, John and Bruce, join the company. Through two acquisitions, a custom retail packaging division is formed in Mansfield, Texas.
2000s
Our private fleet delivers weekly to most of the continental United States, controlling logistics and maintaining continuity of service in an ever-fluctuating freight market, a true competitive advantage.
1993
John and Bruce assume leadership of the company, its third generation.
2010
Company produces over 500 stock products for 1,125 customers and provides over 1,000 custom packaging solutions. Our “easy to love and hard to leave” mantra is rooted in history and continues to guide the future.
2010s
Company expands into Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and Europe.
2020
SCT acquires our corrugate packaging division in Fairfield, Ohio, expanding our manufacturing capabilities.
2020s
Company’s headcount exceeds 950.
2022
Brian Hunt is appointed President, the first non-family member to lead the company.
2023
SCT expands production in Chattanooga with the opening of a new 320,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art manufacturing space at Centre South.
2025
SCT commissioned a next-generation Heidelberg Boardmaster Flexo Press at our Centre South location, advancing our capabilities with enhanced print quality, efficiency, and expanded coating options.
