Maintenance Mentor Program Serves Chattanooga Room in the Inn
The Southern Champion Tray Maintenance Mentor Program participated in a day of service at Chattanooga Room in the Inn.
On a warm summer morning, a group of SCT’s Maintenance Mentees and Mentors volunteered at Chattanooga Room in the Inn (CRITI). The group was in high spirits as they worked alongside one another to tackle a list of needed projects.
For the past few years, our Maintenance Department has been orchestrating a Mentor Program that seeks to develop people skills in its team members, as well as build relationships while serving one another in love. A big part of this program involves the group of Mentees partnering with CRITI to help with the great work they are doing with women and children in need in the city of Chattanooga.
Over the years, the Mentor groups have revamped their playground, mulched, painted, and served wherever needed. This time our group of volunteers cleared an overgrown patch of land, built a new ramp to a storage building, painted, and provided a new picnic table for families to enjoy.
Chattanooga Room in the Inn is an organization that exists to empower women and children experiencing homelessness to become self-sufficient by offering a temporary home while providing programs and services necessary to meet their goals. Since its inception, CRITI has assisted over 4,000 women and children in need. It is truly an honor to be able to serve such a well-deserving organization!
We at SCT look forward to future opportunities to help touch the lives of those in our communities!
