Serving with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga

Southern Champion Tray team members came together to serve with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga; and came away with full hearts and a renewed passion for the amazing work this organization does each day!

These eight individuals came from different departments and with different skill sets, but each was able to genuinely contribute to the project. During the day they completed all the interior and exterior walls for a home that is currently under construction.

Along the way, they were able to learn more about what Habitat for Humanity is doing in Chattanooga and the remarkable impact they have.

According to Franmarie Metzler, “The best part of my experience serving was knowing that we helped empower a family to live in their own home. It’s incredibly rewarding to realize that the generations following that family will have a better chance because we took a few hours out of our day to serve. Plus, I discovered a hidden talent—I got really good at driving a nail into a board without hitting my thumb!”

Southern Champion Tray is grateful to be able to partner with Habitat for Humanity whose mission and values closely align with SCT’s. To be a small part of knowing our neighbors will have a home and security for their families was an amazing opportunity and one that each person felt blessed to be a part of.
